BROKEN BOW — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it's investigating an officer-involved shooting in which a man suspected of killing his mother and another person in Arkansas has been fatally shot by police in Oklahoma.

The OSBI said Sunday the police department in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, had asked it to look into Saturday's shooting death of Andre Johnson, a suspect in a shooting that left two people dead earlier Saturday in Horatio, Ark.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that 40-year-old Johnson was shot after leading officers on a car chase.

Robert Gentry, a spokesman for the Sevier County, Arkansas, sheriff's office, says Johnson had bailed out of his car and started shooting at law enforcement officers who pursued him. Gentry says Johnson died from his gunshot wounds.

Broken Bow is roughly 28 miles from Horatio.
