Paul Allen Grand Lighting Marshall.

Opening night for The One: Bright Lights 2024 is Sunday, December 1, at the tree location at 150 W. Park Ave.. This is the fourth year for Enid’s Christ Tree, and the second featuring a steel 102 foot-tall tree with its 20-foot Bethlehem star and 35,000 RBG lights. Spectators will enjoy spectacular light shows choreographed to Christmas music and coordinated to perform at the top of every hour from 6 p.m.-12 a.m. daily with a weekly rotation of music and light shows. The final evening for the tree to play will be Sunday, January 5th until  midnight.

The tree lighting ceremony begins at 6 p.m., with longtime Enid business icon Paul Allen as the Grand Lighting Marshal. Allen co-founded Advance Food Company in Enid in 1973, which became one of Oklahoma’s largest employers. Some of Allen’s numerous contributions to Enid include a $1M kick-start to launch an Enid Public Schools’ $90M bond issue, the relocation and renovation of Enid Symphony Hall, the construction of David Allen Memorial Ballpark dedicated to his late son, and the funding and project management of the new Advance Soccer Complex. Allen was inducted into the Enid Hall of Fame in 2005, was the Pillar of the Plains winner in 2014 and was named to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 2018.

“Is there anyone who has been more of a friend to Enid than Paul Allen?” said Kyle Williams, founder of The One: Bright Lights and CEO of Hammer Williams Co. “His involvement in and support of our city is far-reaching and touches everyone who lives here. We are extremely honored that Paul has agreed to be this year’s Lighting Marshal.”

Food trucks will open near The One: Bright Lights at 4 p.m. A pre-show with interactive fun, carols and giveaways begins at 5:30, and stay after the lighting ceremony to visit Santa in the Santa House and see an incredible light show on Christ Tree.
