One critically injured

A passenger in a 2009 Hummer H3 was critically injured in a one-vehicle accident at 7:44 p.m. Saturday.

The accident occurred on 44th Street, just north of Dry Road in Kay County.

The vehicle was driven by Lenel Inquez, 18, of Blackwell. Inquez was not injured.

Jose Sanchez 28, of Blackwell, was transported by Eagle Med to Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kan. He was admitted in critical condition with trun internal, leg and head injuries.

A second passenger, Albert Moreno, age unknown, of Blackwell, refused treatment at the scene.

According to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the vehicle was southbound on 44th Street when it exited the roadway to the right. It collided with a culvert, and then a fence. The vehicle then rolled three times and Sanchez was ejected an unknown distance.
