Oktoberfest Has Something For Everyone

Ponca City Now - October 4, 2013 9:16 am

With October comes fall, Halloween and Oktoberfest.

Ponca City is celebrating its 30th anniversary of Oktoberfest.

It will have its traditional beer garden, brats and vendors.

But Brook Lindsay said there are some changes to the children’s activities.

“We’ve had free activities in the past, but this year we will have a schedule of events for free activities," Lindsay said. "So, every two hours there will be a different activity.”

Some of the activities will be duct tape art and bocce ball, along with the typical pony rides and bounce houses.

For the adults, Budweiser is the featured beer and they will have a specialty fall brew.

And nothing goes better with beer than a full day of football.

Linday said today they will be playing the NFL all day

“ We will have the jumbo screens, plus about seven other screens in there," Lindsay said. "It will definitely have a sports bar feel. You are located right by the beer and food.”

The Ground Round servers will be offering table service in the sports tent.

Admission to Oktoberfest is $4 for adults.

Events will be going on all day at the Marland Mansion and Unity gym today between 11-5.

There is something for everyone whether it be live entertainment, the beer garden or arts and crafts.
