Oklahoma Veterans’ school flag program visits Ponca City High School

The Oklahoma Veterans School Flag Program visited Ponca City Senior High School for an assembly with Po-Hi social studies students.

The group demonstrated the flag-folding ceremony and explained why each step is taken and what it represents. Patriotic music was played during the assembly and its significance was also explained. Students were encouraged to ask questions of the veterans as part of the program.

Oklahoma Veterans School Flag Program is a nonprofit organization that travels around Oklahoma teaching the history of the United States flag in schools and other groups.
