NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Oklahoma pulled in a Top 25 class of signees on Wednesday, a step the Sooners hope returns them to college football’s elite.
The top addition, linebacker Ricky DeBerry of Mechanicsville, Virginia, is considered one of the nation’s top overall recruits.
Offensive lineman Neville Gallimore of the Canada Prep Football Academy in St. Catherine’s, Ontario, Canada, is the Sooners’ top offensive line pickup. He will be a junior.
The Sooners lost out on Josh Wariboko-Alali, an offensive lineman from Oklahoma City who signed with UCLA.
Oklahoma is coming off a disappointing season. The Sooners opened the year ranked No. 4 but finished out of the Top 25. Since then, Oklahoma has fired co-offensive coordinators Josh Heupel and Jay Norvell and hired Lincoln Riley to step in.
