The last Oklahoma Army National Guard soldiers deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom are coming home.

Officials say a ceremony is planned Friday at the Mustang Armed Forces Reserve Center for Battery B of the 1st Battalion, 158th Field Artillery, 45th Field Artillery Brigade of the Oklahoma Army National Guard.

Battery B mobilized in May with about 70 soldiers to include members of Battery B, 171st Target Acquisition Battery. They were deployed to Afghanistan.

They were tasked to provide indirect artillery fire support to coalition forces using the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems. While deployed, they conducted a number of missions to provide force protection and operation of all entry control points.

Battery B later relocated to Kabul, Afghanistan, to provide base defense operations for U.S. Air Force advisers.
