Larry Lunardi, on behalf of the Oklahoma Geologic Foundation, presented East Middle School’s Science department a rocks, fossils, and minerals kit this week.  The kit comprises several variations of different minerals, fossils, and rocks from regions all over the world.

Visiting with 4th and 5th period students, Lunardi, a retired geologist, was able to elaborate on many of the specific items he assembled for the kit.

Specimens included a large cuboidal pyrite crystal, an ammonite fossil, a megalodon tooth, halite crystals and obsidian.  This assortment was acquired through a grant from the Oklahoma Geological Foundation.
