OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Oklahoma insurance experts will be hosting a forum next week in Moore to help local residents with insurance-related claims connected to the devastating May tornadoes.

State Insurance Commissioner John Doak said the forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Moore Public Library.

Insurance Department officials will discuss topics like how to file a claim, what happens when a claim is denied, how to file a complaint and how to look for fraud. Residents can also ask specific questions about individual insurance concerns.

Doak reports nearly 100,000 insurance claims have been filed in Oklahoma since May 19, totaling more than $1.1 billion in payments.
