OHP trooper exchanges gunfire

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, during a pursuit about 11 last night a state trooper was shot at.

The trooper returned fire at Kwade Sanderson, 19, of Festus, Mo.

No one was hit.

The pursuit continued on H.E. Bailey Turnpike heading westbound for about 15 miles before Sanderson left his car and took off on foot.

Troopers setup a perimeter where he left his car near the Elgin, Fletcher exit.

Sanderson was found around 8:30 this morning and was taken into custody.

His rifle was recovered and he was booked into Comanche County jail on multiple felonies and misdemeanors.

The pursuit began when the trooper attempted to stop the suspect for a traffic violation.
