FORT SILL, Okla. (AP) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Fort Sill officials are searching for the driver of a car that was swept into a creek over the weekend.

Authorities say the driver is believed to be Staff Sgt. David Lee Hawkins, who has been reported missing. They say the driver on Sunday attempted to cross a low water crossing on post before the water carried the car downstream.

The vehicle was recovered from the Medicine Bluff Creek on Monday.
