Tommy Darrell Coulter

Tommy Darrell Coulter, 91 years old, of Tonkawa, OK, left this life on Saturday, March 8, 2025. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, March 14, 2025, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 505 Thunderbird Rd, Tonkawa, OK, 74653.
Tommy was born on September 3rd, 1933, to Jerry Milton Coulter and Louise Rose Blaser Coulter in Enid, Oklahoma. He married Donna Mae Zody on November 8th, 1953, at The First Christian Church in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and they recently celebrated their 71st anniversary. Tom was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tonkawa.
Tommy graduated from Tonkawa High School in 1951, where he enjoyed being in the FFA and taking care of pigs. He knew early in life that he wanted to be a farmer. Shortly after Tom and Donna married, Tom served in the Army and they had many adventures while Tom was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. Tom was a farmer for most of his life. He loved what he did for a living and could talk about crops and the land for hours. Tom served as Kay County Assessor and also worked as an insurance crop adjuster.
Tommy had numerous interests and pass times. He spent many happy hours cooking the most fabulous BBQ on his famous monster smoker. On opening day of dove season, he and his buddies were always the first ones in the fields. He was always up for a friendly game of Black Jack or Poker. Tommy enjoyed visiting with people and had a special sense of humor. He absolutely appreciated a good joke and loved a hearty laugh.
Tom was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Tedrowe Coulter and sister-in-law Sandi Coulter, and his brother-in-law Keith Zody and sister-in-law Barbara Zody.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Donna of Tonkawa, his son Tim Coulter and wife Deborah Coulter of Tonkawa, OK, his daughter Julie Coulter Works and her husband John Works of Guthrie, OK, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
