Obituary for Yolanda Petty

Yolanda Antoinette Petty, 89, of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 ay Ponca City Medical Center.
Yolanda was born on May 5, 1924 in Ponca City to Anthony and Flossie (Running After Arrow)Knight. She was a homemaker, attended White Eagle Schools and finished her education in Kansas City, KS. She was married to William H. Petty on February 10, 1964 in Ponca City. They lived in Ponca City and Jenks prior to moving to the Veteran’s Colony in 1989 at Wilburton, OK. She enjoyed making quilts, fringing shawls, bingo, cooking, baking, but most of all she loved to spend time playing card games, dominoes and Yahtzee with her grandchildren. Her husband passed away on May 30, 2005 and at this time she returned back to Ponca City to live with her daughter, Mary Rhodd and son-in-law Penny “BO” Rhodd, Jr. and their four children. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Lawrence DeLodge, Henry Knight, Dana Knight and Louie Knight. Her sisters; Florine DeLodge, Angeline Larvie and Nellie Others. Son-Fred Mallett and grandson-Vincent Gaines.
Yolanda is survived by 2 daughters; Mary Rhodd of Ponca City and Andrea Petty of Clinton. 9 grandchildren; James Lasley, Anthony Rhodd, Andrea Rhodd, Lewis Rhodd, Leanna Rhodd all of Ponca City, Wesley Gaines, III, Yolanda Gaines, Evan Gaines all of Clinton and Timothy Lasley of Tulsa. 7 great grandchildren; Christopher Lasley, Tierra Lasley, Rylee Lasley, Rollar Warrior, Jr., all of Ponca City, Vincent Gaines, Melanie Gaines both of Clinton and Journey Chapman of Sapulpa, OK.
Wake services will be held Friday and Saturday, 7:00 p.m. and Funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2014, all at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church with Brother Jimmy White Officiating. Burial to follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be; Anthony Rhodd, Lewis Rhodd, James Lasley, Timothy Lasley, Wesley Gaines, III and Evan Gaines. Honorary Bearers are; Anthony Harjo, Star Knight, Jr., Melvin Callshim, Jr., Nate Smith, Rollar Warrior, Sr., Thomas Knight, Star Knight, Sr. and Morris Harjo.
