October 18, 1940 — June 22, 2024

William (Bill) Gilbert Deibler of Newkirk was called home June 22 after a short battle with colon cancer. He was 83 years old.

Bill was born in Manhattan, Kansas on October 18, 1940, to William Gilbert and Leota Mae (Bangert). After graduating from Manhattan High School, he served his country in the US Navy. After his time in the service, he met Susie Weber of Newkirk, and they were married in May of 1965. They raised 4 children, Jennifer, David, Brad and Brian.

Bill worked at Conoco as a Refinery Carpenter in Ponca City for 27 years before retiring in 1998.

Bill’s hobbies included a master of woodworking, gardening, camping and most of all hunting and fishing with his boys.

In the summertime you could find our dad in the hayfields raking hay with one of his good friends of almost 19 years, Jerry Ramey.

Bill is survived by his wife of the home Susie, his daughter Jennifer Wooters, sons David (Dawn) Deibler, Brad (Buffie) Deibler, and Brian (Stacy) Deibler, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Ethan Deibler and his fiancé Karly, Boen Deibler, Jackie McConnell (Nelson), Brinley Deibler, and his great granddaughter Kashlynn Merz, and his sister Mary Clayes of Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents William and Leota Mae, his sister Shirley Carby, brother-in-law Vic Clayes, and grandson Daniel Merz.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in Bill’s name. Thank you to the Renaissance Hospice Staff for taking such great care of our dad.

Bill’s services are being provided by Grace Memorial Chapel and will be held at The Newkirk City Cemetery on Thursday June 27th, 2024, at 10am. Condolences can be left for the family on our online Guest Registry at gracememorialchapel.net.
