January 15, 1938 – October 7, 2021

Wiley J. Warner, lifetime Ponca City resident, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the age of 83.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with ChaplainTom Howard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Wiley Jay Warner was born January 15, 1938, in Ponca City, OK, to Benjamin Franklin and Clara Frances (Gibble) Warner. He grew up in the Ranch Drive area and attended the Ponca City schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved growing trees of different varieties.

At a young age, Wiley helped with farm chores. When he was older he helped his father with the construction of below-ground tornado shelters. He also helped his brother in carpenter work and loved to help work with concrete. He was also employed at Farm Fresh and Tyson’s.

He is survived by two brothers, Bill Warner and Gene Warner and his wife Sally; three sisters, Gerlaine Sloan, Jennie Craft, and Carolyn Sue Chamberlain, all of Ponca City and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben F. & Clara Warner, two brothers, Bennie L. Warner and Bob Dean Warner and wife Rose Marie, and brothers-in-law, James Sloan and Estle Chamberlain, niece, Amy Pameticky, and nephew, Mark Chamberlain.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Humanity Hospice and their caregivers, Alicia, Mitch and Debbie. They would also like to thank Mandy from Precise Home Care.
