January 10, 1937 ~ November 16, 2019 (age 82)

Blackwell, Oklahoma — Wesley Lee Vann, 82, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Hillcrest Manor in Blackwell following a brief illness.

He leaves two sisters, Dorothy (Vann) Rhoten of Claremore, Connie (Vann) Jackson and husband Jim of Oklahoma City, two sister-in-laws Barbara (Vann) Duede of Bartlesville and Judy Vann of Katy, Texas, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Born January 10, 1937 and raised in Webb City, the son of Clem and Vaude (Johnson) Vann, he was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma.

In his early years, he attended school at Webb City and graduated from Chilocco Indian School in 1956. As a young man, Wesley worked in the oilfields near Shidler. He was honorably discharged after serving 8 years in the U.S. Army Reserve and Army National Guard of Oklahoma, and worked for many years at Tulsa Winch.

He is preceded in death by a spouse, Lottie Vann; his parents, Clem and Vaude (Johnson) Vann, two brothers, Neale and Joe Vann, and a brother-in-law, Elvin Rhoten.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2019 in Grandview Cemetery, Kaw City, OK. Guest registry is available at www.gracememorialchapel.net.
