Walter Wallace Postelwait
(November 7, 1936 – February 17, 2016)
Walter Wallace (Wally) Postelwait went to be with his Lord on February 17, 2016. Wally was born September 7, 1936 in Ponca City to Walter S. Postelwait and Marion Wallace Postelwait. He attended Garfield Middle School, East Junior High, and Ponca High School from which he graduated in 1954. While in high school, Wally played the tuba and marched with the high school band when they received an invitation to march in the Eisenhower Inauguration Parade. After graduating, he enlisted in the Navy where he was stationed at U.S. Naval Air facility China Lake, California. When he was discharged from the Navy, he decided to reside in California, where he met Sharon Stahler whom he married on February 10, 1962. To this union was born his son, Walter Wallace Postelwait Jr. and daughter, Karen Wally. He worked for many years in the film industry and retired from RCA and Warner Brothers Recordings. He left California in 2002 to make his home in Ponca City where he met the love of his life and companion, Bettie McDaniel.
Wally loved sports, especially football. He attended all of the PoHi Friday night football games with Bettie. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He became a valued member of the Moose Club, Noons Lion Club, and the American Legion Club.
Wally is survived by companion, Bettie McDaniel, son, Walter Postelwait and wife Annette and granddaughters, Sarah and Sydney, daughter, Karen Postelwait with life partner, Donna Adamek and granddaughters, Jordyn and Kelsi of California, brother, James Ray Postelwait and wife, Jennifer of Mountain Home, Arkansas, nephews, Jason and Cameron Postelwait, sister, Barbara Snyder and husband, David and children, Steve Harper (of Texas), Bart Snyder, Bret Snyder, and Robyn Primeaux of Ponca City, and sister, Betty Jo Dickson and children, Chuck, Mike, and Mark Dickson of Mooresville, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, step-mother, Mable Postelwait, sister, Jackie Lou Wiediem, and brother-in-law, Charles Dickson.
A funeral service for Wally will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 22, 2016 to celebrate his life at the chapel at Trout Funeral Home. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest in the V.A. section of Resthaven Memorial Park, with military honors.
Family visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2016 from the hours of 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Trout Funeral Home.

Casket Bearers will be: John Krider, Walt Postelwait, Ray Postelwait, Scott McDaniel, Shelby O’dom, and Fred Clark.
