Walt Allen

November 7, 1978 – April 10, 2022

Walter Scot Allen, 43, of Blackwell, passed away on April 10,2022 after a long and dreadful hospital stay where he underwent multiple open-heart surgeries and battled many infections along with a brain bleed that neurologically handicapped him.

Walter was born on November 7, 1978, to Jacqueline and Harley in Nevada, Missouri. In 1982 his family moved to Baxter Springs, Kansas where he attended public schools and graduated. After Walter graduated from Baxter Springs High School in 1997, he went on to welding school for about two years and then moved with his mother, stepfather and sisters to Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was shortly hired by COOP to run grain elevators.

In July of 2000, Walter met Martha one night when she went outside by chance and heard him causing a commotion. Walter and Martha dated up till February 14, 2001, when they got married in a little church in Blackwell. May 2001 their first daughter Kaitlyn was born. They went on to have three more children, their first son Kolby born May 2004, their youngest daughter Jaiden born July 2006, and the youngest son Jakeb born October 2007.

They raised their kids fishing and hunting with Piston, their family dog. He enjoyed the simple things in life like grilling for his family and friends and exploring the great outdoors. He loved to shed hunt and scout out fields. He could see a deer over 100 yards away without his glasses but not a speed limit sign. He loved bingo nights with his wife and hanging out with his family was his favorite thing to do.

Walter was preceded in death by his stepfather David; father-in-law Charles; mother-in-law Shirley; and numerous friends and cousins.

He is survived by his wife and kids; mother; father, Roland Harley Allen of Schell City, Missouri; sisters; aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the Blackwell Tabernacle with Pastor Cliff Johnson officiating.
