Wah-skon-Muh-Theh Giveswater Camp
June 18, 1985 – July 24, 2018
Wahskon, who’s Ponca name is Walk Strong, was born to Craig Kelly Camp Sr. and Catherine June Nuttle on June 18, 1985 in Ponca City Oklahoma and left this world to make his spirit journey on July 24, 2018, at the age of 33. Wahskon was blessed to have a large extended family, and two mom’s who loved him unconditionally. Although born to June Nuttle, he considered Belle Louise Camp his mom as well.
Wahskon was a 2004 graduate of Frontier High school where he excelled at athletics, especially basketball. His Senior year he won the State Championship ring he had been chasing and set a state record for Assists in the tournament. Wahskon continued his basketball career as a Haskell Indian before returning home to the Marland and White Eagle area, working in construction. On September 30, 2010 Wahskon married the love of his life, Tosha Warrior and they had three beautiful children, Wahskon Jr., David Eugene, and Lillieahna Pearl, who truly were the lights of his life. Wahskon was an amazing Daddy and a loving husband, son and brother.
Wahskon was raised in the Sundance circle and was a veteran dancer. He was a Ponca warrior, and a proud member of the Pawnee Nation. Wahskon loved spending time with his very large family, attending traditional dances, pow wow’s, playing Shinney, going to family dinners at the lake or just hanging out watching any kind of sport. Although he watched it all, Wahskon was a lifelong avid, some might say rabid, OU Football Fan. He loved nothing more than gathering with his Dad and brothers and cheering loudly – Boomer Sooner!
Wahskon is survived by his Father Craig Kelly Camp Sr., his wife Tosha, his children Wahskon Jr, David and Lillieahna, and siblings Mary Escalara, Suzoni Camp, Grace Wilson, Kachina Camp, Mazhuga Shon Camp, Craig Kelly Camp Jr., Kiamichi Camp, Estah Ujon Camp, Knoxsah Camp, Coralie Rosetta Leclair, Henry Pohocsucut, Arthur Paul Daugomah, Mary Beardsley, and Raymond Beardsley. Wahskon had special nieces and nephews that were like his children, Anjonnell, Joseph, Bobby and Clarkson Howe, and Knoxsah Jr., Woodrow, and Emery Camp. He is also survived by his Aunt Casey Camp-Horinek, Uncle Dwain Camp, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Wahskon was preceded in death by both of his Moms, his grandparents Jewell McDonald, Woodrow Camp, and Bubby and Pearl Nuttle, and his brother Emery.
