Vetrice Lee Jackson Valentine born December 26th, 1944 in Ryan Oklahoma, died December 8, 2020 at age 75 as a result of COVID19 at Alliance Hospital in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
As the daughter of a career Army soldier Vee attended school in many states and graduated in 1963 from Hirschi High in Wichita Falls, TX. After having several life experiences, she met and married Marcus Leon Valentine in 1980 and upon retirement moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma. They enjoyed a blissful marriage life in Blackwell until his death in 2013.
Vee loved to read, loved her family, church and serving her community. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marcus and her parents Audrey and Jodie Jackson.
Vee is survived by her sons, William Ponder of Louisville, CO and Bryan Ponder of Bixby, OK as well as granddaughter Jessica and grandsons Logan, Ben, Will, Josh, Jacob and Travis. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Charlotte Stroman of Cibolo, TX and Dona Roberts and brother in law Greg of Lago Vista, TX.
Due to the health crisis that our nation is currently experiencing a memorial will be held at a later date when it is once again safe for all who wish to attend, and will then be laid to rest at Mount Olive Cemetery in Nardin, OK with her beloved Marcus.
In lieu of flowers it is asked that you simply do a kind act for someone in need.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge all of the loving and loyal friends, extended family and the First United Methodist Church of Blackwell. Much gratitude and thanks to the extraordinary first responders of Blackwell and staff at Alliance Health Hospital for the exceptional care and effort they gave to Vee.
Do not cry because she is gone, rejoice that she was here and we were able to be a part of her life.
