Velda Miller passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Ponca City, OK. She was 89 years old. Velda was born on August 15, 1928 in Peterson, Utah to her parents, George Melvin Mildon and Edith (Morris) Mildon. She grew up in Ogden, UT graduating from Ogden High School. She married Truman Dickison on December 17, 1945 at the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. The family moved to Ponca City, OK in 1957. She later married Joe Miller in Ponca City. Joe and Velda were married 45 years until his death in July of 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and two brothers.
Velda is survived by her sons; Ray Dickison and wife Maggie of Del City, OK, Lee Dickison and wife Jackie of Tonkawa, OK, Wayne Dickison of Ponca City, OK, Jerry Dickison and wife Joanna of Ponca City, OK, daughter, Betty Hall of Ponca City,OK, as well as 14 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
A graveside ceremony for Velda will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City. Family will be available to greet friends on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City.
Casketbearers will be: Lee Dickison, Ray Dickison, Jerry Dickison, Wayne Dickison, James Hall, and Brian Dickison.
Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City.
