February 5, 1941 – July 22, 2019
Tereasa Jean Barton Campbell, born February 5, 1941, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, July 22, 2019. Tereasa was born to James and Maxine Barton and was raised in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School. She had 2 children Kenneth James (Jimmy) Campbell and Shelly Campbell Gitthens. She was very close to Jimmy’s partner in life, Natalie Conlan, who helped care for her for many years.
Tereasa spent many years working for Conoco as an executive secretary in the geophysical department and truly loved her job, she then moved to Oklahoma City in 1979 and continued to work for Conoco for many years. She then went on to work the rest of her career as the secretary to the General of the 95th Division of the Army Reserve in Midwest City. Anyone who ever met her will always remember how much fun she was, she could truly be the life of the party and she never met a stranger. She loved her Chihuahuas: Cricket, Coco and Puddin’. Due to health conditions, she spent the past several years at home with her beloved son by her side caring for her daily.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth James and partner, Natalie Conlan of Del City, OK, daughter, Shelly Gitthens of Edmond, two adopted sons, Michael and Marcus Groh, and 2 grandchildren, Kari Coppedge and Riley Gitthens of Edmond and two great-grandchildren, Teagan and Nova both of Edmond.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Maxine Barton.
A graveside ceremony will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10:00 am with Tom Howard officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
