Obituary for Steven Ralph McEnany

Steve McEnany, a lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed away at his home on Friday, December 20th, 2013, after an extended illness. He was 58 years old.
Steve was born in Ponca City on February 22nd, 1955, the son of Bill and Betty McEnany. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1973. He joined the local Pipefitter Union #430 in 1975 and worked for them for over 26 years.
His hobbies included hunting, playing darts, shooting pool and playing his guitar. But the things he enjoyed the most were spending time outside camping and fishing with his family and friends. Steve was one of only a few people in Ponca City that restored rifles and guns and made them look brand new. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog Pepper.
Steve married Sandy Galvan on March 26th of 2001. He is survived by his wife Sandy, his father Bill McEnany of Ponca City, his children Heath McEnany and his wife Erica of Ponca City, Victoria Stockton of Del Mar, California, Tyler McEnany of Ponca City, Angela Kirk of Wichita, his brother Mike McEnany and his wife Pam, and his sister Lisa Morrison and her husband Kevin, all living in Ponca City. His grandchildren include Cheyenne and Marshall McEnany of Ponca City, Jenna Stockton of Del Mar, California and Drew Rateliff of Ponca City. He also has many nieces and nephews that will truly miss their Uncle Steve.
He was preceded in death by his mother Betty in October of this year and by his grandparents Ralph and Bessie McEnany and Steve and Vera Minor and cousin Billy McEnany.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors in the Critical Care Unit of the Ponca City Medical Center for their help and expertise. They would also like to extend special thanks to Dr. Cassidy and Dr. Bauer for all of their help and dedication to Steve during his illness. A special thanks to nurse Diana Turner to whom Steve and Sandy will never forget how caring and compassionate she was with him. Steve will always be missed and will never be forgotten.
The funeral service will be at 10 am on Friday, December 27th, at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers are Barry Roller, John McEnany, Tim Glaser, Kyle Morrison, Phillip Galvan, Rick Galvan and Mike Galvan. The honorary pallbearers are Charlie Myer and the members of the local Pipefitter Union #430. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
