Solon Cries For Ribs

September 22, 1952 – April 2, 2017

Solon Cries-for-ribs, age 64 of Ponca City, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 2, 2017 at his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Traditional Ponca Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 following noon feast at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of the Grace Memorial Chapel.

Solon Cries-for-ribs was born September 22, 1952 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Herbert and Dorothy (Little Standing Buffalo) Cries-for-ribs. He grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma and graduated from Chilocco Indian School. He worked as a Pipe Welder, Certified security guard and later in maintenance for the Ponca Tribe. Solon was a member of the Ponca Indian Methodist Church, he was an avid Elvis fan and toured got to tour Graceland five times. Solon loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Cindy of the home; three children Marcus Eagle and wife Alexis of Ponca City, Summer McWithey and husband Todd of Ponca City and Solon Cries-for-ribs Jr. of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one sister Donna Pappan of Ponca City; four grandchildren and his beloved Trinity; nephew Herbert Cries-for-ribs of Arcadia, CA; aunt Bernice Wrolstad of Ponca City; good friend he called a brother Curtis Primeaux who preceded him in death.
