Shirlee Corrine Kegerreis
(March 13, 1930 – December 10, 2017)
Shirlee Kegerreis of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017, in Florida at the age of 87 years.
Shirlee Kegerreis was born on March 13, 1930, to Samuel Allen “Ad” and Elvina Belle Chilson. She was a survivor of the dust bowl in the plains of Oklahoma. During this time at the age of twelve, she was preceded in death by her mother. Being raised by her father she loved beating the boys in marbles and riding on the back of an Indian motorcycle. She later married Charles Elmer Kegerreis in Dallas, Texas, and immediately became a Navy wife. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She also served with the American Red Cross and conducted water safety certification programs.
She is survived by four children, Robyn Crazan Kelly, Rae Nan K. Wiggins, Rulaine Kegerreis and Rian Kegerreis; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Randy Kegerreis; and a sister, Sammy Smith.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20th in the New Home Cemetery in Eddy, Oklahoma, with Rev. Rian Kegerreis officiating.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the United Methodist Children’s Home in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
