Shane Lee Bailey, age 57, from Ponca City, Oklahoma, left this earth on June 19th, 2024.
Shane was born to Donald Ray Bailey and Vickie Dean Crawford. He was the youngest of three children. He grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma but he moved to Fairfax, Oklahoma where he graduated in 1985. He was employed with Osage County Maintenance crew for 12 years then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics. After graduating with his non-destructive testing degree, he took a job in West Plains, Missouri where he met and married his wife of 24 years, Heidi Bailey. Shane and Heidi were married on June 23rd, 2001, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Together, from this union, one child was born, Garrett Bailey. In 2012, Shane and Heidi returned to Ponca City, Oklahoma where Shane was employed at American Piping Institute, working out of their Cushing Office until his death.
Shane was an avid OU Football and OU Softball fan, and rarely missed a game. His favorite hobby and past time was playing golf individually and with his family. He loved reading and his favorite was a good spy/espionage book.
Shane is survived by his wife, Heidi Bailey, and son, Garrett Bailey, both of Ponca City, Oklahoma, three stepchildren, Stacy Higgins, James O’Neal, Jr., and Corey O’Neal, all of Springfield, Missouri, sister, Kym Vap, and brother, Monty Eckler, both of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Shane is preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Bailey, his mother, Vickie Dean Crawford, stepfather Don Crawford, and brother-in-law, Tony R. Vap.
Cremation services are under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date. Condolences, memories and kind words can be shared with the family at gracememorialchapel.net through the online guest registry.
