Obituary for Ruthellen Summers

Ruthellen Summers, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. She was 92.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Larry Stuart officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Ruthellen was born on July 27, 1922 to Clarence Leroy Shafer and Nanie Elsa Doing in Cushing, OK. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1940. In 1944 she married Duane Summers in Rapid City, SD.

Ruthellen loved to play bridge and in the summers she loved to water ski. She was a member of the Ponca City Mothers Club and also a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Beth Belter and her husband Tom of Tomball, TX; son, Dennis Summers and his wife Donita of Edmond, OK; daughter, Terease Dewitt and her husband Perry of Hominy, OK; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane Summers; two brothers, Joe Shaffer, and Russell Shafer; one sister, Elizabeth Coley.
