She and Kyle Moreland were married on November 2, 1940 at Winfield, KS. They lived in Long Beach, CA for 2 1/2 years before moving back to Blackwell, where they started their businesses of trucking, combining and baling hay until retirement in 1992.

Alyne loved to bake, and decorated wedding and birthday cakes professionally for several years. Her wedding gift to many of her children’s friends was their wedding cake. She won numerous ribbons at the Kay County Fair for her baking, canning and sewing.

Her greatest joy was to be with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was especially proud to be a great great grandmother and loved showing pictures to anyone who would take time to look at them.

After her husband’s death in 2003 she remained in Blackwell. She was extremely independent, living by herself and cooking for herself until finally moving to Hillcrest Manor in May 2020 where she quickly became a staff favorite because of her friendly disposition and independent attitude. She recently celebrated her 104th birthday on Thanksgiving Day and although covid protocol kept her from being with family in person, she celebrated with phone calls and cards from her family and many friends.
