Ruth Avis Baughman Edens

May 29, 1930 – November 14, 2019

At the age of 89, Ruth was finally reunited in Heaven with Bob the love of her life on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

Ruth moved to Ponca City as a young lady and soon met a neighborhood boy Robert J. Edens who she fell in love with the first time she saw him. They were married as soon as it was legal and were blessed with a daughter Bobbie and son Joe. Bobbie and Joe continued to bless Ruth with 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Throughout Ruth’s life, she enjoyed making dolls, many of which she sold at the McCord Craft show for over 30 years. As well, Ruth was fond of her time playing bingo with friends at the McCord Senior Center. She loved her family above all else and they will dearly miss her showering of unconditional love and of kind words.

Survivors include her beloved children, Bobbie Pumford and husband Bobby Joe of Ponca City, Joe Edens and wife Cathy of LaVeta, CO, cherished grandchildren: Brigitte Coffman and husband John, Brandi Cavallaro, Robyn Shaw and husband Paton, Jess Edens and wife Christi, Todd Edens, and adored great grandchildren: Adison, Eden, Evan, Conor, Ryan, Allie, Brandon, and Dillon.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Stella Baughman, treasured husband Robert J. Edens, as well as her siblings: Eddie Baughman, Violet Dennis, Teddy Baughman, and Freddie Baughman and treasured great granddaughter Ava Cavallaro.
Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home from 1-8pm on Sunday, November 17. A graveside ceremony to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Resthaven Memorial Park with Chaplain Gary Wilburn officiating. Casket Bearers will be Jess Edens, John Coffman, Todd Edens, Paton Shaw, Adison Coffman, and Junior casket bearer will be Conor Cavallaro. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
