Rosemary T. Ramsey

January 11, 1930 – October 2, 2017

Rosemary T. Ramsey, age 86, long-time resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 in Ponca City.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects on Thursday, October 5 from 10am-8pm and Friday, October 6 from 8am-8pm. A Rosary Service will take place at 7pm Friday, October 6 in the chapel at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory with Deacon Dick Robinson officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Carson Krittenbrink and Father Deva Undralla officiating. Following the ceremony, Rosemary will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Raymond at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Rosemary was born on November 1, 1930 to Paul Focke and Estella Maurer Focke in Dayton, OH. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Ponca City. Rosemary graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1948. On April 20, 1954, Raymond Ramsey became her dear husband at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, celebrating 54 years of marriage before his passing. Over the years Rosemary worked in her family’s cafes in the area before becoming a cashier at Dillons and later Rainbo Bread. After retiring, Rosemary lent her hand as a volunteer with the Living Hope Pregnancy Center, the Ponca City Hospital, as well as serving as the head of Christian Services at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. When her hands weren’t busy out and about, she kept them busy at home with a love for quilting, baking cookies and cakes, reading Christian books, all the while doting lovingly on her cherished family. While her work and hobbies were a big part of her life, Rosemary’s devotion to God and St. Mary’s Catholic Church were defining elements of her life. Her faithful care for her fellow parishioners was evident in her visits and prayers for those in her church family.

Survivors include her children: Mark Ramsey and wife Cheryl of Ponca City, Jennifer Ramsey-Walls and husband Douglas of El Reno, OK, Tom Ramsey, of Ponca City, grandchildren: Audra Buxton and husband Jeremy of Round Rock, TX, Brady Ramsey of Yukon, OK, Arhia Ramsey of Bethany, OK, great grandchildren: Brady Ramsey II, Koen Buxton, Gavin Buxton, Logan Buxton, Mikel Cozart III.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Deanna Zeller, brothers, Paul Focke and Bernard Focke, as well as her sister Stella Springer.
