Obituary for Rosemary Paris

Rosemary Buetow Paris, former Ponca City resident, now of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died at her home, Thursday, January 30, 2014.
Born February 2, 1923, in Newkirk, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Paul and Lula Buetow. She attended schools in Ponca City, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1941 and attended Oklahoma A&M (Now Oklahoma State University) and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
She worked for the Treasury Department of Conoco Oil Company in Ponca City and as a hostess (now flight attendant) for Trans World Airways, stationed in Kansas City, Missouri and Boston, Massachusetts. She later taught in the T.W.A. hostess school in Kansas City and served as a check hostess on the line.
On August 4,1946, she and Jack Paris were married in the First Lutheran Church of Ponca City. While living in Ponca City, she was president of the American Legion Auxiliary, president and charter member of Chapter E.L. o P.E.O., and member of the 20th century Club and Four O’Clock Garden Club. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ponca City, and in earlier years had been a Sunday school teacher and school board member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ponca City, and in earlier years had been a Sunday school teacher and school board member of the First Lutheran Church. SHe also served as one of the original docents at the E.W. Marland Mansion.
She enjoyed gardening, worldwide travel, needlepoint and most of all, her grandchildren. In her earlier years, she was a competitive high diver and ice skater. Her spirit of courage and integrity will live in our hearts forever. Through her life, she touched the lives of many, and was kindhearted, gracious lady.
She is survived by two daughters, Maria McBee and husband, Billy of Dallas, Texas, and Nan Fry and husband, Steve, of Blackwell, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Madison McBee White, and husband, Andrew of Dallas, Texas, Meredith McBee of Los Angeles, California, Dustin Miller of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jake Fry and wife, Angie, of Seattle, Washington, and Brett Fry and wife, Tara of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by a great grandson, Sullivan Brett Fry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and daughter, Louise Miller, a brother, Paul and two sisters, Gerry Milne and Paula Kelly, both of Houston, Texas.
There will be no viewing at the funeral home and a private, family memorial service is planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home, Ponca City, Oklahoma.

She was truly remarkable woman who carried herself with a sort of strength that most can only aspire to possess.
