Rosalie Patterson Briggs of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died August 10, 2017, in the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City at the age of 58 years.
Rosalie Patterson Briggs was born on November 21, 1958, in Ashland, Kansas, to Frank and Dorothy Patterson. She spent a short time of her childhood on the family farm in Paruna before the family moved to Buffalo, Oklahoma, in 1963. She attended Buffalo Public Schools and graduated in 1977. On December 17, 1979, she married the love of her life, Jim Briggs. In 1994 she followed her passion of caring for others and received her Registered Nurse License. Rosalie was blessed with many talents and gifts including a beautiful singing voice, love and compassion for taking care of others, playing golf with Jim as well as other family and friends and her love and devotion to God and her family. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell. Though she was sick for many years you would have never known by the beautiful smile she always had. She will remain as an inspiration to all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Briggs of Blackwell; two daughters, Tonya Criner and Shelly Cassady; nine sisters, Deanna Staats, Lorna Driscoll and husband Dave, Kathryn Brown and husband Larry, Linda Hartley, Nolene Compton and husband Doug, Lynette Ingraham and husband Darrall, Jarie Coggins, Becky George and husband Bill, and Marita Reichenberger and husband Mark; a brother, Frank Patterson Jr. and wife Karen; nine grandchildren, Brittany Sprueill, David Sprueill, Kelsey Cassady, Kaley Cassady, Ky Cassady, Tyler Knight, Dalton Criner, Rylee Criner and Elizabeth Knight; four great grandchildren, Emmalynn Miller, Taegan Brown, Ava Sprueill and Allyse Cassady; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jimmie Dale Briggs; and a sister, Dolores Hugaboom.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 19th in the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Integris Hospice House in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
