Obituary for Ronald Humble

Roland Dee Humble of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday, December 21, 2014, in the Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years.
Roland Dee Humble was born on June 10, 1929, in Nardin, Oklahoma, to Jerry Russell and Olga Amanda (Johnson) Humble. As a young boy they moved to Braman where he attended Braman Public Schools. During his elementary years they moved to Blackwell where he continued his education and graduated from Blackwell High School. He entered the United States Army serving for five years until his discharge on February 16, 1952. Following his discharge he returned to Blackwell and began working at the Acme Foundry. He married Virginia May Nichols on October 10, 1953, in Newkirk and they made Blackwell their home where he continued as a pattern maker for the foundry. After a thirty-two year career he retired and began working for the C.F.M. Corporation. He later worked at Electron until his retirement. His wife preceded him in death in 1975 and he continued to make Blackwell his home. He was a member of the First Church of God in Blackwell and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and helping others.
He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Jackson and her husband Wayne of Blackwell; three sons, Larry Humble of Enid, Rodney Humble and wife Michelle of Ponca City, and Ricky Humble of Blackwell; two brothers, Edwin Humble of Blackwell, and Norman Humble of Ponca City; nine grandchildren, Heather DeBoard, Craig Humble, Crystal Humble, Chris Humble, Rachel Brown, Stephanie Wood, Nathan Humble, Kyle Humble and Andrew Humble; and ten great grandchildren, Tyson Humble, Gunner DeBoard, Michael Stephens, Landen Humble, Noah and Connor Humble, Triniti Brown, Jaxon Brown, Payton Wood and Hunter Wood.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia Ward; two brothers, Roger Humble and John Wesley Humble; two grandchildren, Ashley Humble and Lillie Humble; and a great grandson, Malaki Brown.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 26th in the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the United States Army.
Casketbearers will be Jerry Humble, Robert Humble, Steve Ward, David DeBoard, Tim Brown and Rocky Wood.
A memorial has been established in his honor with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for heart research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74361.
