Obituary for Robert Kammiller

Robert Morton Kammiller, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Ponca City Medical Center. He was 82.
There will be a wake service on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 7:00 pm in the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin Ratterman, officiating. Burial will then follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Robert was born on July 12, 1932 to Morton Kammiller and Eleanor (Juneau) Kammiller in Milwaukee, WI. His maternal great-grandfather, Solomon Juneau, founded the city of Milwaukee, WI. Robert graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1955 and then earned his Masters from Oklahoma State in 1962. Robert was a Fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers and was a Sulphur Recovery Specialist and considered to be an expert in the field. He worked with ROBOTICS at the High School, enjoyed judging science fairs both locally and state level, he was a runner and organized local races through Ponca City Roadrunners, helped with OKC Memorial Marathon; and enjoyed gardening.
He was married to Sonia Rae Langley on June 16, 1956 in Ponca City and to this union they had three children. Robert retired from Conoco after 35 years in 1993 as a Process Engineer. He was later married to Jeanne Ann Kammiller on March 17, 2002 in Eureka Springs, AR.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne Ann Kammiller of Ponca City, OK; children, Lisa McGraw and husband Tim of Edmond, OK; Jan Fender and husband Tom of Ponca City, OK; Eric Kammiller and wife Julie of Derby, KS; step-daughters, Lisa Sloan of Ponca City, step son, Heath DePriest and wife Kacey of Katy, TX and mother-in-law, Mary Brown. He is also survived by six grand children, 7 step grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents Morton and Eleanor Kammiller; twin sisters at birth, and great-grandson, Tucker Trent.
Casketbearers will be Jeffrey McGraw, Tyler Fender, Charles Kammiller, Chance Owens, Caleb Owens, Cade Sloan, Tom Fender, Tim McGraw, Gavan Jenkinson.
Honorary casketbearers will be Garvin Fryar and Lloyd Gelmers.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s researach, AICHE, or the Community Health Foundation.
