Robert Allen Burtsfield

July 22, 1937 – July 8, 2017

Robert Allen Burtsfield, resident of Blackwell, Oklahoma, went to his Heavenly Father on July 8, 2017 at age 79 from complications of dementia.

A Celebration Of Life will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel Of Blackwell. Burial will follow at Blackwell Cemetery. Casketbearers will be William Burtsfield, Roger Graham, Robert Scott Ford, Stan Trepton, Randy Schaller, Scott Wheeler. Honorary Casketbearers will be Ralph Burtsfield, Cliff Fairchild, and Jim Burton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Blackwell.

Bob was born July 22, 1937, Kalispell, MT; He grew up and was educated in Whitefish, MT. At age 17, he joined the Army National Guard. He then went on to trade school in Haver, MT where he learned to work on his tool & die craftsmanship.

Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved to go roller skating, camping, fly fishing and rowing a boat in Glacier National Park & Whitefish Lake; Bob worked on the railroad and would ride the train with his father, the engineer. He also worked summers on a dairy farm.

Bob has been a resident of Blackwell, Oklahoma for 50 years. Bob and Carol joined a Square Dancing troupe in Ponca City and he loved to dance. He loved it so much he took line-dancing lessons before they were married so he could go to the singles dance and feel confident. But lately he was known for his long walks all through Blackwell and his love of eating ice cream cones.

He worked at many various occupations, from custodial (Flathead Janitorial), factory worker, and building maintenance for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bob had a large shop behind his home and loved working with his hands. His passion for building masterpieces out of wood and metal have touched the hearts and lives of many.

Bob married Joyce in 1962. and is the father of 3 children, William Burtsfield of Washington State; Annette Trepton of Ponca City, OK; and Tina Graham of Newkirk, OK. 6 Grandchildren & 4 Great Grandchildren. Michael, Jennifer, Katie, Krisanna, Sky, Starr, Kylee, Christopher, William.

Bob married Carol on November 5, 1999 and sealed in the Dallas Temple.
Stepfather of her 4 children, Darlene Wheeler of Massachusetts; Debbie Houston, Robbie Giroux, and Donald Ray of Oklahoma. 9 Grandchildren; Angel, Cat, Natasha, Nichole, Erik, Brittney, Hayley, Stephen, and Devin; Also 7 Great Grandchildren.

Brother & Sisters: Kay Barker, Ralph Burtsfield, & Linda Burton, all of Kalispell, MT.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry & Henrietta Marie Robinson Burtsfield, and by his brother Roger Burtsfield.
