Bob Noblett

January 24, 1939 – July 27, 2023

Robert Cephas “Bob” Noblett of Blackwell passed away Thursday evening, July 27, 2023, at his home at the age of 84 years.

Bob Noblett was born on January 24, 1939, in Carson, Okahoma, to Mennis Miller and Olive Faye (Ballard) Noblett. He grew up in various communities in the Shawnee area, where his dad coached and taught school. The family later moved to Blackwell where Bob graduated Blackwell High School in 1957. He then furthered his education by attending Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Tonkawa where he studied computers. On July 1, 1960, he married Roleta Ann Pettit in Ponca City and they settled in Blackwell. A year later they moved to Wakita where he owned and operated Nobbie’s Auto Service for nine years. They then returned to Blackwell and he began a thirty three year career with Cities Service Gas Company working on the pipeline.

He served in the Oklahoma National Guard with the Blackwell Unit. During his son’s early years, Bob served as a Cub Scout Leader at Parkside Elementary School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon. He also held membership in the Blackwell Masonic Lodge. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Roleta of Blackwell; a sister, Sherry Brand and husband Phil of Moore; a brother, Kenneth Noblett and wife Jackie of Orlando, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Noblett of Monkey Island; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Chris Noblett; and two sisters, Patsy Muchmore and Etta Faye Elliott.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 4th in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Cody Biby officiating. Burial will occur at a later date in the Rolston Cemetery on Monkey Island.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Mike Creech, Heath Hale, Ronny Porter, Brian O’Dell, Jerry Hickman, Tony Menhaney, Gary Hale, Stan Glenny and the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
