Richard O. Rhynard

(August 13, 1934 – March 2, 2016)

Richard O. Rhynard, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away March 2, 2016 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 81. Richard was born in Ponca City, on August 13, 1934, Richard was the son of Henry and May Davis Rhynard. He attended Ponca City and Newkirk schools, graduating from Newkirk in 1952. Richard married Glenda on August 27th , 1953.They had been married 61 years. Richard retired from Conoco at the age of 55 after many years in research in development. Richard and Glenda traveled the world and the USA for 20 years after retirement. The past 6 years they have been living at home in Ponca City.

Richard is survived by his wife Glenda and his 4 children, daughter, Kathy and her husband Vincent Lechtenberg; daughter, Paula Sneed; son, Richard E. and wife Teresa (Ware), and son, James and his wife Rogie. 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a weiner dog named Kaya.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Albright United Methodist Church located at 128 South Palm in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Joe Colby Road. Casketbearers will be Steven, John, Justin, Kyle, Damian, and Andrew. Funeral services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
