Richard “Dick” Lee Robinson, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was 84 years old. Viewing will be from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home. A Rosary Ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Carson Krittenbrink officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City,OK, 74601.
Dick was born on December 6, 1939, in Piqua, KS, to Donald and Josephine (Willie) Robinson. Dick grew up in Piqua and graduated high school in 1957, at Iola, KS. After high school, he attended Allen County Community College, graduating with an Associate Degree in accounting in 1959. Dick married the love of his life, Martha J. Jeck, in Iola, KS on September 23, 1961. Dick served 2 years in the US Army from March of 1963 to March of 1965, and was discharged Honorably. In 1970, Dick moved his family to Ponca City, to work as an accountant at Conoco. He retired in 1991.
While his children were growing up, he was a main stay at Ponca City, Kids, Inc., where he enjoyed coaching and being a commissioner. On May 2, 1992, Dick was ordained as a permanent deacon with St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where he continued to serve for over 30 years. Dick also served as Chaplain for Via Christi Village, and Tyson Foods for a number of years.
Dick was preceded in death by: his loving wife, Martha; twin sons, Timothy Dean and Thomas Joseph Robinson; and brother, Donald Joe Robinson. Dick is lovingly survived by: daughter, Angie Robinson Swenson; son, Jon Michael Robinson; grandchildren, Heather Ann Clone, Ashley Nicole Daniels and BeauLee, Derek Curlee Daniel and Cody Babb; great-grandchildren, Dryden Thomas Clone, Raelynn Jean Clone and Turner Elizabeth Lee; brothers, David Robinson and Dan Robinson; and sister, Nancy Robinson Andersen.
