Obituary for Rhea Childers

Rhea Mariah Childers, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Ponca City Nursing Home. She was 89.
The funeral service will be held at Kildare Baptist Church, at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 17, 2014 with Pastor Dennis Wildeman, officiating and Pastor Brandon Pendleton, assisting. Burial will then follow at the Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Rhea was born on October 13, 1924 to Larmer Gaskins and Edith (Benedum) Gaskins in Doddridge County, West Virginia. She was raised in West Virginia. She was married to Howard Childers on Sept 7th 1942 in Selma Alabama . She worked for the United States Postal Service. She was active in the Kildare Baptist church for over 40 years.
She is survived by Daughter, Anne Thorpe, Son, Mark Childers, both of Ponca City, Son Paul Childers and wife Sherri of Waynoka Okla. daughter in law Isabel Childers and one sister Betty Brannon and husband Bud of Salem West Virginia.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren Vickie Thorpe, Mark Thorpe and wife Joni, Melissa Swords and husband Zac, Josh Childers, Joe and wife Kristen Childers, Tony and wife Melanie Childers, Zack Childers, Jesse and wife Ashley Childers, David Childers, Martina Jimenez, Starsky Martinez, Kourtney and husband Ryan Webb and Kolten Childers., 9 great grandchildren Taylor, Tylar and Levi Thorpe, Conner Larsen, Parker Miller and Bodie Swords, Madisyn Krebbs, Roman Childers and Adeline Childers. 1 great-great granddaughter Ryleigh Wetzel.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, sons David and Bob, granddaughter Lisa Childers as well as 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Casketbearers will be the Grandsons. Honorary Bearers will be the Great Grandchildren.
