Obituary for Questa McGee

Questa June Boyd McGee of Norman, Oklahoma passed away on August 29, 2015 following an extended illness. She had recently resided at an Oklahoma City nursing home. Born January 9, 1932 to Ruvello "Bob" Boyd and Jennie Marie Coleman Boyd in Nardin, Oklahoma, she graduated from Blackwell High School. She married William Lee McGee and raised two children, Carol Lea and James William.
Questa was a talented singer, active in a high school trio. She held jobs as a telephone operator, and drug store clerk before partnering in the management of McGee Jewelers in Norman, Oklahoma. She also worked at Rosenfield Jewelers and a Hallmark store in Norman.
Questa was active in the activities of her children, acting as a Brownie and Cub Scout leader and home room mother. At various times in her life she enjoyed games, sewing, needlework, Beta Sigma Phi, and the First Christian Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, step father Harold Marion "Mike" Carriger, and ex husband Bill McGee. She is survived by daughter Carol Friesen of Holiday Island, Arkansas, son Jim McGee and wife Ginny of The Woodlands, Texas, brother Harold Michael Carriger and wife Pollie, and sister Eileen Carriger. Questa was especially proud of her grandchildren, Toby Friesen, Tory Friesen and wife Stacy, Jennifer DeHart and husband Kenneth, and Anna McGee. Three great grandchildren also survive her, Savannah, Evie, and Ryley, DeHart.
Questa always loved her cats. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the cats at Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, 4500 24th Ave. NW, Norman, Oklahoma 73069, or Integris Hospice in Oklahoma City.
A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Blackwell Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM at McFarlin Memorial Methodist Church in Norman.
