Peggy Jacques
May 22, 1932 – July 7, 2024
Peggy June (Deason) Jacques, 92, of Whizbang/Shidler, OK, joined the love of her life in their eternal Home July 7, 2024. Per her wishes, a graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, OK at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 11, 2024, with Pastor John Waterloo officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Peggy was born May 22, 1932, to Don and Gertrude (Davis) Deason in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of their two children, having an older brother, Don Richard Deason. She had many cousins who were just as close to her as siblings.
She graduated from Shidler High School where she played basketball and was the drum majorette. After attending the University of Oklahoma, she was employed at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas.
On February 17, 1957, she married James Oliver Jacques and they made their home on the family ranch in Whizbang, OK. Peggy took great pride in being a homemaker, raising their two daughters, Jan and Deana. She loved being a homeroom mom, a Sunday School teacher, and teaching bible school.
Peggy’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. She passed on to them her love for cooking and baking, gardening, fishing, and crafting. She was the best pie maker around.
Peggy leaves behind: her daughters, Jan Jacques and Deana Cornish, & husband Richard; grandchildren, Jory Jacques & wife, Kelly, Loren Leathers & husband, Dalton, Jacques O’Connor & wife, Rachel, Kaitlyn Abbott & husband, Sean; great-grandchildren, Liam, Noah, Kade, & Carly; and great-great grandchildren, Dahlia & Holton.
Peggy was able to spend her final days at home with the support of her family and Hospice of North Central Oklahoma. The family would like to again give a special thank you to Sharyn, Bailey, Susan, Dr. Allen and the hospice team for the support, care, and love you have shown to our family over the past six months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave, Ponca City, OK.
