Our sweet sister, Patti Braden, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 13th, 2022. She was 69 years old. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 19, 2022, at the Carolyn Renfro Center, with Rev. Tom Howard officiating. Patti was born and raised in Ponca City. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1971. Patti was preceded in death by our parents; Bob and Sue Braden, along with grandparents, Jim and Gertrude Braden and Jim and Eunice Chittum.
She attended Northwestern University and Central State University. She worked in the accounting field for Bill Eubank for 25 years and then for Hospice of North Central Oklahoma as Chief Financial Officer. Patti had been involved with the Extra Eyes program with the Ponca City Police Department, and served on the board of directors for the Edwin Fair Community Mental Health Center. She was an AARP tax volunteer for many years, and was also a Hospice volunteer. She took care of both her grandmothers in their declining years. Patti grew up in and was active with the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by: siblings, Becky Henderson (Jack), Debbie Roland, Bobby Braden, Barbara Wright (Bill). She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Michele Roland, Hillary Wright (Keith Clingman), Madeleine Braden (Clay Thompson), Tucker Wright (Jenna), Austin Robedeaux (Tori), James Braden, Wyatt Thompson, Sofie Wright, John Wright, and Franklyn Robedeaux.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of North Central as well as the staff and friends (you know who you are) Patti made at Ponca City Nursing and Rehab. Thanks to all the friends and relatives who showed great care and concern over the years for our sweet sister. She was kind and generous to everyone with an infectious laugh. She was a good listener to everyone, including strangers. We know there’s a Sonic Diet Coke with extra ice waiting for her at heaven’s door! We shall never be able to fill the hole in our family now that you are gone. God Speed Dear Sister.
