Patricia Louise Shepherd of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away early Monday morning, February 27, 2017, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home at the age of 93 years

Patricia Louise “Pat” Shepherd was born on October 2, 1923, in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, to Percy K. and Lottie M. (Childs) Ingels. She grew up in Tonkawa and attended Tonkawa Elementary School until 1932. At that time she moved with her family to a farm west of Blackwell and continued her education at Star School through the eighth grade before graduating from Blackwell High School in 1941. Following her education she began working in the Triple A Office, now known as FSA, in Newkirk. On January 6, 1946, she married Wayne Shepherd and they had two children, Robbie L. and Danny W. Pat was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell. She also held membership in the Y. W. Club, Domestic Science Club, and Preceptor Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. For many years Pat worked for the Election Board in Blackwell. She loved to play bridge with friends and taught the game to both younger groups and senior citizens.

Pat’s life centered on her family, from taking care of parents and grandparents, to serving as a den mother for her son’s Cub Scout Troup, and being “mom” to friends of Robbie and Danny. She shared her love through her marvelous cooking, and her recipes have been passed down through the family. Pat was a loving mother who always had a sweet smile and kind word. Wayne was the love of her life and after moving into Hillcrest Manor in 2012, they would often walk the halls holding hands.

She is survived by her daughter, Robbie Reagan and husband John of Tucson, Arizona; her son, Danny Shepherd of Blackwell; four grandchildren, Denise Schroder and husband Troy, Andrea Cassady and husband Joe, Daniel Reagan and wife Heather, and Laura Laporte and husband Ricardo; as well as fifteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Bill Ingels; and her daughter-in-law, Sandra Shepherd.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 2nd in the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Cap McIlnay officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Memorials have been established in her honor with the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell and Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
