Obituary for Paschel Cerre Sr.

Paschel A. Cerre Sr. resident of Ponca City passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Ponca City Medical Center at the age of 69.

A traditional meal will be held at noon Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Ponca Cultural Center with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m.with Tony Cerre officiating. Burial will follow at Ponca Indian Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Mitchell Cerre, Paschel A. Cerre Jr., Odi Brown, Cesar Amaya, and David Fouts. Honorary Casketbearers will be Curtis Warrior, Wilkie Eagle, Doug Eagle, Millard Cerre, Tony Cerre, Roland NoEar Jr., Raymond Cerre, Franklin NoEar. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

He was born May 27, 1945 to Mitchell Cerre and Dora Fireshaker Cerre. Paschel enjoyed Pow-Wows, Gourd Dancing, fishing, and working security guard from time to time with the Ponca Tribal Police. He also worked security at the Indian Chilocco School. The Dallas Cowboys was Paschel’s favorite football team.

Paschel was preceded in death by his parents Mitchell Cerre and Dora Fireshaker Cerre, sisters, Vinola Rosburough, Harriet Cerre, and Julia Cerre.

He is survived by two brothers, Millard Cerre, and Tony Cerre; daughters, Christina Amaya, Samantha Fouts, Rosemary Brown, Nancy Brown, and Endonis Tohee; sons, Paschel A. Cerre Jr., Jason L. Cerre Sr., Odi Brown Sr., Cesar Amayn, and Mitchell Cerre. And several nieces and nephews.
