Nellie G. Pratt

October 11, 1925 – December 25, 2024

Nellie G Pratt went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2024. She was 99 years old.

Nellie was born on October 11, 1925, in Hunter to James and Mabel Peck. She grew up in Hunter and attended Hunter Public Schools. On July 30, 1947, she married the love of her life, AC Pratt. They went on to be married for 68 years before his passing in 2015.

Nellie worked at Blackwell General Hospital for many years, then went on to work at the Blackwell Middle School Cafeteria for 27 years where she enjoyed cooking and serving food to all the kids, where she became “grandma” to hundreds of kids. Even years after she retired, she was always approached by people who remembered her from the cafeteria and would want to visit with her.

Nellie loved to crochet and enjoyed making her kids and grandkids afghans. She spent decades teaching Sunday School at the First Church of the Nazarene where she was a member.

Nellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend. Nellie loved it when family gathered for monthly birthday celebrations, and holidays. She has always enjoyed a full house and spending time with her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. They all brought so much joy and happiness to her life.

While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing that Nellie got to celebrate Jesus’s birthday in Heaven with her deceased family members.

She was preceded to heaven by her Father and Mother, James and Mabel Peck, Husband, AC Pratt, Son, Verlin Pratt, Son-in-Law, Glen Beard, Siblings, Viola Goodman, Lawrence Peck, Evelyn Peck, Louise Natale, Anna Mae Jones, Ivan Peck, Nephews, Jackie Goodman, Randy Peck, and Howard Kitchen, Neice Margaret Schackmann, Granddaughter, LaVonda Beard, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was survived by her Daughter, Anna Beard, 10 Grandchildren, Granddaughters, Christy (Beard) Johnston and her husband Matt, Kelly (Beard) McLain and her husband Nate, Anna (Beard) Kelly and her husband Bobby, Grandson Jirrel Pratt and Grandson by heart, Matt Fish, eight Great-Grandkids, Steven Johnston and his wife Amanda, Mitchael McLain and his wife Emily, Trent Johnston and wife Kaitlin, Kleigh McLain, Allee Johnston, Wesson Kelly, Huntlee Kelly, and Alex Pratt nine Great-Great-Grandkids, Aiden Johnston, Jasen Johnston, Braxten Johnston, Brooklyn Johnston, Austen Johnston, Madison Johnston, Reed McLain, Lennox Pratt, and Freyja Pratt, with number ten on the way, and Great-Niece, Desiree Honeycutt, and many more loving nieces and nephews.
