(January 16, 1945 – December 8, 2015)

Nancy Sue Lambing Langdale, age 70 passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at her home in Newkirk. Nancy was born on January 6, 1945 in Winfield, Kansas to Eugene Leslie Lambing and Dora Clay Finley. She grew up on her family’s farm near Braman, Oklahoma completing 1st through 6th grades at Plainview School and then graduating from Braman High School in 1963. Nancy attended Gallaudet College for the deaf at Washington, D.C. in 1964 and Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma in 1965. On January 14, 1967, Nancy married Charles Raymond Langdale at the Mt. Hope Methodist Church in Geuda Springs, Kansas. They made their home in Newkirk for over 40 years.

Nancy worked at Albright’s Abstract in Newkirk beginning in 1966. Later, she worked as a proof editor at Eastman National Bank in Newkirk beginning in 1982 and retiring in 2007. Taking care of flowers and plants was a joy in her life which led her to work at Greenfield Nursery until 2013. Nancy participated in the WOW (Women of the Word) Retreat for twelve years. In 2011, she joined the Board of Newkirk Housing Authority. Mt. Zion Community Church in Arkansas City, Kansas was her church home. Above all, Nancy enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother and was known to make efforts to watch any of her grandchildren’s participation in activities.

Survivors include her beloved husband Ray of the home, dear mother Dora Burris of Winfield, KS, cherished children: Tony Langdale and wife Tawnya of Ponca City, Tammy Dowler and husband Roy, Jr. of Arkansas City, step-son Robin Langdale of San Diego, CA, adored sisters: Charlotte Crymes and husband Herschell of Whitehouse, Texas and Darlene Vanderloos and husband Bill of Billings, Montana, and treasured grandchildren: Riley Dowler, Brock Dowler, Whitney Langdale and Taylor Langdale. She was preceded in death by her father and sisters Vickie D. Huster and Sylvia J. Hutton Smith.

A funeral ceremony to gratefully remember Nancy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Mt. Zion Community Church in Arkansas City, Kansas with Pastor Gale Rider officiating. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at the Newkirk Cemetery. Her casket bearers will be Brian Deibler, Keith Parr, Brian Roe, and Dustin Glenn.
