Nancy Carpenter
December 19, 1939 — December 13, 2024
Nancy Jean Carpenter, 84, passed away at home in Ponca City, Oklahoma on Friday December 13th, 2024. Anyone that knew Nancy would find it quite ironic that she passed on Friday the 13th. She told me that her and God had a plan, and she wasn’t going to be here much longer. Nancy was born in Charles City, Iowa on December 19, 1939, to Arthur and Cleone Jorgensen. Nancy and her family spent most of her growing years in Iowa where she graduated High School in Cresco, Iowa. There she met one handsome young man named Roger, and they fell in love and married on September 27, 1958. They went on to have 5 children and they were married for 12 years.
Nancy will be remembered for her smile, her great laugh, amazing singing, and her deep love for music, and her talent in many musical instruments. Her favorites were the guitar and piano. Nancy loved her family deeply and she was always willing to help. She loved to bowl in her early years. She and 2 of her sisters even recorded a song once in Chicago. For years we had family sing a longs! Nancy also loved animals, she was especially fond of her horses, dogs, and cats. Once Nancy and her sister Sally even thought it would be a great idea to bring the horse into the house!
Nancy is survived by her sister, Patricia (Mickey) Fitzgerald, brother, Chuck (Jeanne) Jorgensen, daughter, Theresa (Michael) Barnett, sons, Timothy (De) Eidenschink, Thomas (Ava) Eidenschink, Todd (Angie) Eidenschink, and Tracy Eidenschink, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great- grandchildren. As well as many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Cleone, her sister, Sally Jenkins, and a nephew.
Cremation services were provided by Grace Memorial Chapel, Ponca City, Oklahoma. An online guest registry is available at gracememorialchapel.net.
