Michael Jason Carr, 47, of Kaw City, died September 1, 2020, in Mesa, AZ. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Ponca City Church, 701 W. Chestnut, with Blaine Herron officiating. Friends can stop by the funeral home to sign the register book, Tuesday September 8, 2020, from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

For those attending the funeral ceremony, face masks are required. The funeral ceremony will also be broadcast virtually on the Trout Funeral Home website, www.troutfuneralhome.com. Michael was born October 16, 1972, in Tulsa, OK, to Thurman “Junior” and Carmen (Lucas) Carr. He made his career as a machinist and loved his tenure as the Machine Tool Instructor at Pioneer Technology Center for 10 years.

His favorite topic of discussion was his 3 children, Chase, Grayson, and Kinley. He could not even say their names without being filled with pride. Mike loved fishing with his dad, taking nature hikes with Grayson, playing barbies with Kinley, golfing with Chase, Grayson, Joe, Leo and Harold, and eating his mom’s sausage balls.

He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and was very proud to have an autographed jersey, signed by Terry Bradshaw. He also loved music, especially Pearl Jam.

He is survived by his parents, Thurman “Junior” and Carmen Carr of Kaw City; ex-wife and special friend, Mindy Meyer of Ponca City; children, Michael Chase Carr, Grayson Carr and Kinley Carr; brothers, Jeffery Carr of Tulsa, Mark Carr of Charleston, SC; grandmother, Celestine Lucas of Broken Arrow, OK; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Clinton Lucas, Andrew Piatt, Thomas Meyer, Joe Kampman, Jared McMartin and Harold Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Carr and Grayson Carr, Mark Carr, Jeffery Carr, and Leo Kampman.
