Melvin Spec Weaver – Veteran
May 3, 1931 – October 16, 2017
Melvin ”Spec” Blaine Weaver born May 3, 1931 on a family farm in Grainola Oklahoma to Sam and Mable Weaver. Dad was the youngest of 9 siblings. He is preceded by his parents, brothers and sisters and loving wife Betty Lou.
We were so lucky to have a life with dad and mom, they chose us and brought both me and Lisa Kay home, we will both be grateful until we depart this world to join them. Dad is survived by Joe Blaine Weaver, son of Midwest City, OK and grand daughters Joree 5 and Jensi 1, and Lisa Kay Massey of Ponca City, Cody Main, great grandson Riker (on the way), and Taylor Rae Main and great grandson Chase. Dad is also survived by Hugh Alan Jones, someone that dad loved and thought of as a son. Mom has the coffee on and she is waiting he said just days before left us.
Dad is known and loved my many, it was a privilege to see him with people, something he truly loved, he loved to cut up, dance, garden, mow his yard, and he loved working.
Knowing that he was terminal in his illness brought the ability to communicate with the kids as he said. The old man had a calm and resolved that he would soon be with his Lord, his bride and at rest from a ”perfect life”. Dad asked me if I had any messages, with tears I answered tell momma I love her and miss her, he smiled and said perfect words. We love him and miss him. We will go on knowing that he loved us unconditionally.
When mom passed we wrote stop the press there isn’t enough ink to write all that describes our love and loss, well honestly now the press is broken and there is no one to fix it. There are so many to thank for your love and words. We all have large boots to fill, we will never be able fill them or dance the way he did.
