Obituary for Maudine Ferguson

Maudine Louella (Barnes) Ferguson, 84, was born on August 12, 1930 in Childress, Texas to Basil Fern and Minnie Belle (Abernathy) Barnes. She died on September 12, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Billy Glynn Ferguson who was employed by Conoco Oil Company. They were transferred frequently and Maudine spent most of her life moving all over the United States. Their final move was to Ponca City in 1973. Maudine went back to school for her GED and then graduated from P.A.V.T. School of Practical Nursing in 1979. She worked as an LPN at Highland Nursing Home in Ponca City, Oklahoma for several years.

Her final years were spent at Sterling House where she continued to enjoy eating chocolate daily, loving John Wayne, and playing games which she frequently won.

Maudine Ferguson is survived by her daughter, Teresa Reedy and son-in-law Paul Reedy of Graham, Texas, her grandson Kevin Reedy of Denver, Colorado, and sister JoAnn Kendall of Birmingham, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Ponca City Humane Society in her name. Her ashes will be interred in Decatur, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory of Ponca City.
